During the early 80's, WASTED perfected a form of Artifical Intelligence. However, the method used to give objects intelligence was flawed, and they cound only control objects in the shape of lampposts. Once this was discovered, they began giving lampposts around the world intelligence, and also mind altering drugs, to allow WASTED to control any thinking lampposts. The Spinely Ones discovered WASTED's plan, and stopped the process, but 1 million lampposts were already under WASTED's control. Since then, the Spinely masters have been freeing lampposts around the world. Although the process of freeing lampposts is undocumented, the process of starting control has been photographed, and can be found on the next page.
